So since I'm near him and looking for a bus to build I had to ask him.
this was his response
"Good question, glad you asked. There are many reasons why it's worth $9800 to someone. The quality of the engine/tranny combo and the care it's been under its short life ensures its longevity. This bus lived in a rural town, less wear and tear than in cities. Absolutely no rust is hard to find on school busses under the carriage and inside of the bus from foot traffic, it's hard to know what you're getting under the seats and rubber floors - it could be rusted/molded through the wood (see
www.Skoolie.net for project pics). This is of course if someone would be converting this to anything, in that case the most difficult work of demo is also done. Removing the seats, the rubber, and dumping the trash is worth much physical and mental energy to the next converter. Painting all 36 feet of this monster was a tapping marathon - saves time, money, and energy to the next owner. It's illegal to keep a bus yellow in any scenario. Lastly, I've driven it all around CA and it's run strong for me with no signs of letting up for as long as you'd need it"
Makes it sound like he is on this site somewhere.
