I'm in Virginia, and the school district is Montgomery County Schools in Christiansburg, 40 min or so SW of Roanoke and about 3 hrs up from Charlotte NC. I had a great chat with their bus shop foreman: one of the most kind and helpful guys I've ever spoken with.

Sounds interesting.
But where?
I wish everyone would enter their home town and state in their profiles.

2000 Bluebird pusher on the auction block in Utah. Underfloor storage and luggage racks so it's most likely a trip bus. No mention of engine or transmission type but hopefully they've been rebuilt at some point if the bus has 294,000 miles.

I'd say starting the bidding at 3 grand seems a bit optimistic considering the mileage

The ones I'm looking at are in Christiansburg VA, about 45 min SW of Roanoke and about 2-3 hrs N of Charlotte NC.

Also, I added my location to my profile - thanks for the reminder.

Just popper up. Guys asking $850 for a running 9-window dog-nose with a 7.3 under the hood. Maybe not the ideal bus, but at that price there is a lot to like if you are on a budget! Its listed in South Carolina.

That's a nice looking medium size bus.

Well, I'd say about this much.

Final Price $3,650.00

That's pretty ballpark for a good quality bus. It's hard to judge by the pictures, but knowing WA as a good place to buy a bus I'd guess it's in decent shape. That is one of the most preferred engines and transmissions in a pusher or any other style.

Did you get it? You might need a little more lead time if you want answers before an auction closes. I'd say that was a pretty good deal at that price, which is why so many of us prefer to buy from the auctions.

No I didn't get it. The person who did was buying everything. I would say probably for resale. Beat my bid of $3500

That is the drivetrain I have been looking for so will just keep looking.

Wealthier, impatient folks have paid a lot more for buses like that.
But yeah, I'd say it went for about what its worth.

Lots of buses in the $250-500 range at the moment; bidding closes in about four days for most of 'em. Seems low - maybe a bunch of folks waiting to snipe? Or they don't like the manual or 366 engine? Might be worth a look. From a small county in the middle of nowhere about an hour and a half NW of Virginia Tech.

Yeah, I've seen a lot of buses popping up lately.

But locally, I'm working on buying a shorty I've found. An 88 Bluebird 5 window. Going to look and drive it Sunday.
It'll basically be used as a van/truck.

I see the problem. That bus has waaaaaay to many seats in it. It looks good, especially just in photos. It makes you wonder where that bus has been with a big loud paint job like that. It looks nice, but you can hide a lot of problems with a clever paint job. The add was conspicuously lacking in information. Maybe that guy just likes fielding lots of bs phone calls.
I'd go look at it if I wasn't a gazillion miles away. I'm overly wary of craigslist sales.
