This was a fire department vehicle, and the fire guys I know obsess about taking care of their vehicles.
It is not painted 'school bus yellow', so, if you can live with the color, you can avoid a re-paint altogether, or at least delay it. (Florida does not require that the yellow be painted over, but still, I think most people prefer not to keep the yellow for various reasons.)
I've got my conversion underway (finally), but I might go for this otherwise.

Has anyone looked at this bus? Any idea which engine & tranny? I contacted the seller and he has no idea. He did send a picture that I could not tell from:
"Upload failed".... Resized the JPG all of the way down to 200kb and it still failed.

I'd go look at it FOR someone, but its a bit of a drive.
I had a B600 and wasn't a fan.
It does look pretty clean in the pic, though. I'd guess its got the 545. It has a 5.9 cummins.
"no cracks in dashboard" made me chuckle a bit.

Exactly one bus length.
Ok, but seriously I think I see 12 rows of windows, so probably somewhere around 35' or so.

Used School Buses - Bus - $2000 (Rugby)
Used School Buses - Bus
We have over 100 used school buses for sale. Starting at $2000 (I have recently sold most of the $2000 buses). Most of what I have now the price will be $2500 and up. I do not have a complete inventory list. I can give you an idea of what we have and if any of it might fit your needs let me know. I have bluebird TC2000's from 1989 to 2004, I have a few of the later models with air brakes. I have a few Bluebird Visions in the 2004-2005 range, I have several late 90's Bluebird All Americans with rear engine. I have 2 2005 All Americans front engine, no air brakes. I have International and Ford conventionals from the early 90's to 2005. I have a 2013 Freightliner Thomas. I have a few very late model Bluebird Visions and All Americans. All of our buses have very little to no rust. All of the buses are located in Rugby, North Dakota. Let me know what you are looking for and I can see if I have a match. Text or phone call is preferred.
Thanks, John

How do you have so many buses for sale? Are you a dealer or a school bus operation that's shutting down?

Well, they're cats, they have high miles on some, and they have really strict policies about pickup.

He is with the Bluebird dealership in Rugby ND. Hartley's School Buses, Inc.
I have spoken with him regarding used busses and gotten a good vibe. Enough so that unless I find something suitable closer to me in the near future I will be making a trip to North Dakota.

I'm in NC, and that would be a fun road trip in the Spring.

maryland is a salt-crazy state... there could be a ton of rust on those busses.. B156 seems liek the CAT has had some work done to it so might be a solid running rig.. werent the turbos the biggest issue with those?

don't know much about it, but just thought it was funny they went through the whole process to make it look like a factory rv.
