According to: The Price of Weed, Marijuana, Cannabis - PriceOfWeed.com it is about 20% higher in Florida. And according to my own observation the people in CA are about 50% higher than people in FL.....

If you listen to the Drugs Incorporated show they claim most of the hash and marijuana come from the islands beyond florida.

Both of those exist in other parts of the country. I don't like the thought of driving a new-to-me vehicle on an interstate trip without tools.

Good engine, belly storage and looks in good condition. It is everything I want in my next bus, but $8500? I'm guessing by the sign in the pic that it's a dealer.

Now I think about it, I haven't seen many DT530s in skoolie a recently. How common were they?

The DT530 wasn't super common in ICs, as far as I know they were only available in the RE buses.

I see DT530 buses most often in the Southwest region.

I'm looking at an IC RE w/ a DT530 in Indiana. It was an activity bus and has low miles. Heard opposite things about the engine. Some here say its a good engine, others say they wouldn't want one. Start another thread about engines? I would really like to know the pros and cons of the different ones before I commit to anything.

If that had air ride, 97,000 miles and was $4500, i would be on my to drive it home! Hey, I can dream right?

I reall like the super long buses, I drive a TT so the length doesn't bother me.

Completely agree with you guys he's asking way too much. But Its shiny chrome wheels and under storage just call to you.

There are factors driving up the price. By all of us looking for skoolies we are making phone calls and dealers are seeing $$ signs. We've got to find information on auctions and start posting. Or find a school district thats willing to sell or auction off to a bunch of us.

The only problem I see with that is we don't all want the same spec bus. And even if we did, for every one of us here there are probably 10 people looking for a Skoolie.
Just have to stick to the auction sites and not bid each other up.

Anybody score a bus in the Salt Lake City auction today? I missed it because I was out all day but looking at the prices there were some good deals. A bunch of 84pass FE TC2000's. None went above $2000. Hope someone on here got a deal!

"skoolies" and tiny house people are just a drop in the bucket.
The big dogs are the exporters- They're exporting these as fast as they can, snapping up as many as they can.
The folks fueling some of the CL and dealer prices ARE the folks who just watched some HGTV and YouTube and HAVE TO HAVE A BUS TODAY!!!!!!

For the best bang for the buck, just spend the time to figure out what's a "good bus" for you, and start bidding on them at the auctions. Patience will pay off in spades. You can buy a few auction buses for what a CL ad or dealer are asking for one fairly low-spec bus.
I've NEVER made any of those phone calls you mention. I'd imagine they do get more calls than they used to though. The only time I call about a bus is when I've won one and need to arrange pick up. That's been three times.
I usually just email them any questions I have.
All I usually ask about is the gearing, transmission, and tires. But I have called about a few auction buses, too. Just depends on how much info I want or need.
I've owned 3 buses now and have spent 3800 total buying buses in my life.

Vehicle Gallery - Midwest Transit

71 pass, tall roof , DT466......Not bad for $1400

I seen Midwest has been active in Skoolie Facebook pages this week, advertising parts and service etc. I wonder if they are coming around to the Skoolie market no?

IDK but they weren't too cool when I asked em about a wiper switch. They have the highest price I could find. I asked em if they ship free. NO. I asked em if they match prices. No.
The FB skoolie page would be a great place to advertise though, as most of the folks on there seem more naive.
