I was not able to confirm first hand that they were 3060s though.
I confirmed it.

Does anyone have any experience/opinion on these short wheel base flat nose buses?

IDK, for what I bid I'm willing to roll the dice I reckon.
Hoping to get a 466 with OD and AC. That's what Roxy wants. We're selling both our buses and looking for one shorty with the exact setup we want. This bus is close, but I've never considered NY buses due to the likelihood of rust.
This one's got a rough body but checks some of those boxes.

newbie on the shopping thread

Hi There , thank you to eastcoastcb, capt , cadallackid , rusty and bunch others for details and pointers for buying a bus.

We have done a ton of research and you all know sooo much more . We would love to hear your thoughts. some of you like the GM some like the fords and cummins etc. We are in MA plenty of rusty buckets here so AZ KS TX look like better buying grounds. Seems like some of you enjoy watching the auction sites so we're asking for leads. Some of you bidding.

Our purpose is to travel part time and scuba dive . We need to do some stealth camping in the city visiting our kids. Looks like we narrowed down to shuttle bus conversion. the turtletop van seems a bit too small. Although a service box truck might be more secure for expensive scuba gear (ccr) . We will custom build out lav, kitch, etc. A separate compartment for scuba gear with venting system. Is solar on the roof a big thing for any of you?

We are watching the auctions purplewave has a few .
public surplus has a bunch
Public Surplus: Paratransit Bus
Ebay seems overpriced. Barginbusnews seems overpriced.
If you add an auction link , please lean on the side of "great buy, I'd buy it if I was in the market" ..won't hold it against you lol
THANK YOU

I am not. Not quite ready to part with the money yet. Also, it's a long long way from me.

We really need to organize our bidding.
Someone just sharked a bus I've been bidding on.
This thread is a double edged sword, for sure.

It's at $2,500 with 24 hours to go. Seems high doesn't it?

Not too bad. Looks like a nice little bus.
I'd be tapping out at this point, though.
Looks like a low floor bus on little tires. I need full size tires and as much clearance as possible.

short flat nose buses are hard to find. I also respect that this bus is in an area where no salt is used on the roads. the school district is nice and has a good budget. talked to the fleet manager. had good vibes.

I'm honestly not sure I think the 466 went electronic sometime in the mid 90's I'm sure the school district would be happy to give more details if someone was interested.
