The wife is telling me the brake situation and rust don’t bother here, but I’m on the other side of the fence!

I talked to the guy and it sounds like he sells buses! He told me he had three in Jacksonville, but they weren’t what I was looking for.

I’d much prefer a ‘rust-free’ bus or at least one with minimal rust obviously. I really don’t want to have to deal with more metalwork than I have to (roof raise is part of the plans).

And I’m awake cause I’m hoping to find a bus in the next two weeks! I have time off and wanted to use it to get a bus and whatnot. If it doesn’t happen, then it doesn’t happen unfortunately. Just don’t wanna make a boneheaded decision. Also I wouldn’t mind driving it down to Florida. It’ll be a good vacation with the wife.

Also, we’re not going to be doing TOO much traveling so I don’t think the hydraulic breaks would be a huge dealbreaker. Heck, hydraulic brakes are all I’ve ever known!

you do not want that tow dolly, no center pivot, you would be dragging it around the corners

That's probably why it was so cheap.

It was previously listed, went to $6400 and did not meet the reserve.

Also, the seller deleted all questions asked and was very evasive in their replies.

Buyer beware.

Good looking bus. What do you folks think about the Benz engine?

The MB engines have a good reputation for reliability. They can be more difficult and more expensive to get serviced than a comparable International or Cummins.

However, I would be more concerned about the rust on that one.

The ad is interesting..... If I am reading it correctly, the bus has an Allison 2000 and an MD3060.... Hmmmm....

They are very good engines, but not the cheapest to repair.

Mercedes Benz owns Thomas Built Buses, so you see quite a few Thomas' fitted with them. We have them in our Saf-T-Liner C2's

If you correspond with Thomas' staff via email, they all reply from @daimler.com addresses.

according to the description, there is a small diesel engine under the chassis to run the A/C. Legit? Common?
