I would imagine those are the A/C units. Its Phoenix, so it probably has a beefed up system. I was more curious about the fact the ad claims there is a separate small diesel to power those units.

It used to be common for ACs to have a separate engine, based on the thought that the power requirements would impact the bus engine power levels while driving the bus.

I'm more in need of large heaters.

That's not the first time a bus has claimed a pony-engine-driven A/C on here IIRC. There have been detailed pics on at least one in the past. Something interstate/coach class, but it could happen in a skoolie.

Besides, it's the mythical flat-nose short bus! Time's a-wastin'!

according to the description, there is a small diesel engine under the chassis to run the A/C. Legit? Common?
Legit, not common. 2 big AC units on roof. Looks like great skoolie material to me. Trans is weakest link.

Cool stuff. I wonder if the pony motor could be run when parked to run the A/C? Efficient, and wouldn't harm the motor from idling for extended periods of time. Would be ready to go from the start for some Big Red tailgating

I think that is more the reason for them than, as mentioned earlier, taking the load off of the main engine.

Washingtonians using 19.5" wheels that always wanted aluminum shiny wheels.

9ea. 245/70R19.5 8 hole aluminum wheels, some tires show damage wheels appear in good shape, stacked on 2 pallets. Loca - Government Liquidation

These are wheels with tires. Wheels reported to be in good shape, tires questionable. No pics.

Not an outstanding bus, except note the rear storage and two midship escape hatches.e.

Maybe it's just me that's never seen this configuration before.

FWIW- folks, avoid buses from Cleveland Texas. They totally don't maintain them worth a darn and are downright rude folks to deal with.
I've learned this the expensive, difficult way.

Maybe we could have a thread of "sellers to avoid"???

At this point I'm really wondering why the bus mechanic was so rude about that bus. He should have been happy to see that one go on down the road.

To be fair, the coolant leak sprung up when the bus was in my possession. I literally watched it as it happened.

A mechanic wouldn't care, he'd just spend an afternoon and fix it.

Maybe he wanted the bus. Maybe he or a friend were one of the other bidders.
Who knows. But the school still hasn't gotten back to me about the maintenance history or any of that.

HORRIBLE school to buy a bus from, folks!
