Thanks.

Gotta love the old Eagles. I sure miss mine.

This is at a district local to me.
2003 BB TC2000 78 pass
245hp 5.9 ISB, 3060 transmission. Retarder. And is that an exhaust pipe for an auxiliary heater that is peaking out from under the battery box?

Saw this bus in my usual searches. Mileage is 148,142. And it is already registered as an RV!

Not bad, 2 roof mounted AC units powered by an Onan Emerald III Genset generator. 4 new tires and a recent oil change.

An Allison MD3070: https://www.govplanet.com/for-sale/P...20-01-493-6059

From what I can find, it is a 7 speed. I had never heard of such an animal before.

I found the following info on another site:

The MD3070 is the same family as the MD3060's with the addition of the transfer class with another lower gear (hence the trans in all wheel drives are a 7 speed). The top 6 speeds are the same as the MD3060. What I remember on the MD3060 id that 4th gear is 1:1 , 5th .75 OD and 6th .65 OD . The WTEC shows 7 gears (on the 3070), but the "automatic" shifting are 2 to 7 . 1st must be shifted into manually for use, once any other gear is selected, 1st is locked out until manually selected again. It is a off road gear to be selected when needed

Granny gear in 3060. Wonder what ratio the 1st gear is, don't see much need for it in a Skoolie.

Holy Crap, the auction time ended with the bus at $4850. I went away thinking it had ended. In the next 7 minutes 13 more bids came in from 2 bidders driving it to $8800, $9900 after auction fees. Those guys wanted that bus really bad.

Cool! Is the offset output yoke a normal thing for these transmissions, or are they typically straight through?
