the disadvantage of a low floor is low ground clearance and no basement.. However Joeblack have gone some fantastic places in their low floor named Dory!!! places i never thought a high ground clearance bus could go let alone a low floor

you'd have to make a landing and stairs inside the bus, like the standard folding door in front, and do a bit or trimming top and bottom of the door, if you were buying it 'off the rack' - but your local sash and door shop would be glad to custom make the door for you just the way you want it, with automotive glass already installed at a cost attractive price

Just a plug for the place we bought our bus from in the Virginia Beach/Chesapeake City area. There may be more he has that are not listed.

I think it is $3k

Odd little bus with the van back doors.
I want to buy a bus that was built in this Century. But curious about it.

Prevost made a small handful of the H5-60 buses (Prevost H-series buses nomenclature=the number next to the H is how many axles and the last number the length of the bus). It was a five axle bus that was 60 feet long. It had an 8V-92 buried at the back of the front unit driving the third axle. The fourth was a trail axle and the fifth was a steerable trail axle.

For those who operated them they were garage queens. The way the engine was buried made it hard to work on and all of the moving parts were maintenance intensive. Fourteen tires and ten brake drums is a lot right there!

When they worked the tended to overheat on a good hill even when the ambient temperature was not hot.

Backing up was always a fun experience especially when the steerable trail axle on the trailer got confused as to which way it was supposed to turn while in reverse.

With the two steer axles, the extra space required by the radiators for the engine, and the extra space for more A/C condensers the luggage space on such a large bus was a bit limited.

The last one I saw that sold was under $10K.

Lind-Ritzville Schools are an eastern WA state school that consolidated two smaller in population school districts into a fairly large in square mile school district.

It would appear as if this bus was set up to do trips. A short trip for Lind-Ritzville would have been one hour in one direction. Three to four hours one way would not be uncommon.

I would not be afraid of the miles on this bus because very few of those miles would have been in urban stop/go driving. Most of the miles would be flying across the state at highway speeds.

Because it is an eastern WA bus it will have zero rust issues.

I doubt the bid will stay low because this bus appears to be a pretty nice bus.

And the interest level increases... Again!
That's some really good gouge, thanx for sharing.
