Possible ISO Bus

Okay so long story short, we bought a shuttle bus that won't work for our needs. We're reselling to get our money back out. But that leaves the possibility that we'll want a bus to convert instead.

It has to be mechanically sound as we'd like to drive from KY to Seattle in it without breaking down.

Looking for the $3k range so we have a little money to convert it.

That said, is there a shortlist summary of what I should look for? Or a list of things to avoid?

Any links to buses for sale in the KY, IN, TN, NC, SC, GA, AL, MS, OH, IL, MI area would be awesome!

I have seen some great deals in TN on Craigslist, right in your price range. Good luck!

We should have some nice buses in the $3500 range at auction in July or August, in Christiansburg VA, about two and a half hours up from Charlotte NC. I met the bus barn shop foreman and he was very helpful. I'm convinced that these will be good buses - just taken off the route, good tires, 2001-2 or so, DT466 (e, I presume), Allison 2050 transmission, air brakes, no structural rust. I plan on inspecting them and taking a bunch of photos, and posting what I find.

Thanks! I'll keep researching.
The shuttle will work great for someone who wants to make a conversion but just not take it 6000k miles across the Rockies without fear of breaking down (and no mechanical experience!) I just hope I can sell it for what I put into it. It has so much potential.

Is there a link on this site of the "must haves" for a bus? (ie. DT466, Allison Trans)

This one is in Cincinnati (2 hrs away), mostly converted. Although I'm not a Bengals fan. ;) It's a little older than what I'm looking for.

A bus with autographs. That's a new one.

Do you have a link or information on your bus? What is wrong that you believe it couldn't handle the drive? Just curious!
