They are all 5.9 Cummins with an Allison 545 transmission, in a full-length RE bus. My guess is that they would be OK for flat land and short hops, but a bad idea for mountains or highway use. Relatively underpowered and a borderline transmission for that size of a bus. And no transmission lockup.

Still, one of these might suffice for my moving van project, if I resign myself to slow travel.

Does anyone know the likely clear opening dimensions of the side emergency exit on a '98 RE Thomas?

(Gotta put an upright piano through there).
