school bus neutral safety switch

Ha all you blue bird owners have you ever been stop on the side of the road only to fine out your neutral safety switch has gone out and when you put it into drive you can't go any where ? will i have ,only to fine that the switch rod had broken.this is common they nothing but plastic well you learn to buy two of them.,the rods only brakes but some time the switch go's out too.well i have come across some new switches with rods, they list for around $35.00 to $40.00 apc without the ex/rods at a dealer if you can fine one ... iam selling them for $10.00 a switch with two ex/rods + shipping. these will fit all blue birds from 1987 to 1994...these are new(not used) still in the pack. So don't get stuck without luck, because of a switch,((ITS COLD IN THE BAD LANDS AT NITE)) thanks .... keep on bussing

oh i was told they may fit other bus's too with allison automatic' e-mail for picture of switch

Re: school bus neutral safety switch

I'm unable to see it on Millicent, but she does have one, as she will crank only when the tranny is in neutral. May require some dismantling to get to it.

Myself, having been alerted to this potensial show-stopper, I would be inclined to install a toggle switch to bypass the thing, so the replacement could be put off until I got home.

Thanks Keith!

Are these still available? Do you have a wiring diagram for this safety circuit?
