I'm glad I am only 5'8". My regular roof height feels like a roof raise to me. To me a school us is like a blank canvas. Everyone has the choice(theirs) to build it any way they wish. As long as it is not unsafe, I could care less what they do. When someone removes the door and installs a wooden door with a one square foot window, that is unsafe in my opinion.

Structural integrity is one reason they are my choice. I will not move my door to the middle to look like a RV. I would just buy a RV. I don't want to make my bus look like a RV. I am not an engineer so I will not be cutting the bus in half for more headroom. After reading many of Nat's posts, I feel he is more than qualified to modify a bus in a structural manner. I am certain of that. There are some others here that I feel are also qualified to undertake such a project. This is a minority not a majority of the members here. All you need to do is read some of the questions asked. Don't get your panties in a bunch for that comment but I wouldn't want those people doing a roof raise when they would struggle with installing windshield wiper blades.

So if the modification is safe and you don't like it, keep it to yourself. If you can't be constructive in your criticism, why muddy up the waters. Paint it hot pink for all I care.

I support breast cancer research, so hot pink works for me.

I have an 89 IHC Shortbus that is registered as a Motorhome and has MH on the title..... I bought this recently from a small dealer here in Florida and they got it changed to MH for me in the title process... Cost me 400 bucks extra but its done.

Craigslist = 89 IHC Short Bus with A/C

It doesn't cost any extra to do it at the tag office here in FL.
Was that the bus place in Tampa? I've heard they do the MH titling but gouge on the price.
All it takes is an affidavit you fill out at the tax office.
Any dealer doing their own title work on a school bus and putting MH on the title is actually breaking the law, but thankfully for us there isn't anyone to check!

Not questioning you but questioning you. You're positive its a 7.3 and not a 9.0? Reason I ask is that I have never seen a 7.3 in that model/year bus.
