Selling my 40ft Thomas schoool bus in California
Martinez CA
40ft Thomas Saf-T-Liner school bus. Inside is stripped, 2 bench seats reinstalled for temporary seating.
New Batteries
New Wipers
New Turn signal switch
New Belt
New headlights/highbeams
Recently inspected
Runs well, has been driven in 30 to 95 degree weather with no problems.
I made the mistake of buying something larger than my capability, and I need to start over with something smaller. The inside is gutted and ready for you to install whatever you want.
For photos and offers, contact me at AWebb3701@gmail.com

If this thing is tagged and titled in CA and it's a motorhome title and it's CARB-blessed, it'd almost be worth buying for the chassis and drivetrain!

Working under the assumption that this is the same bus he was troubleshooting a starting issue with a little while back...
It's a 1991, rear engine, 12 valve Cummins 5.9 (mechanical engine). No idea what transmission it has.

If you can snap a picture of the side of the transmission, we can probably tell you what model it is.

Update: Price has dropped to 7k, since I'm now actively trying to move this thing before the police tow it because my WONDERFUL neighbors aren't happy with a renovation project in their neighborhood.

Is it off the street?, are you in a HOA?, can they legally tow it?

It's on the street, because our neighborhood doesn't have space on the properties for a bus.
They can legally tow it, because there are a bunch of laws about size limits that they weren't going to enforce or even inform me of until today, but they are now because there have been ELEVEN complaints in the last 2 weeks, from people who don't want to talk to me, but love to complain to the cops.

My first bus was "free" but ended up costing me at least five grand in fines and lawsuits. I didn't get another bus for about a decade or so- I wanted to make SURE I have somewhere to keep my bus this time!
Best of luck to you, AWebb3701.

That's the best part. I went down to the police station multiple times and confirmed that I wasn't violating anything, and they told me that everything was on the up and up, despite receiving multiple notices of complaints.

Seems to me ( I could be wrong because I don't know your city ordinances ) if its registered & insured as a RV then as long as it moves every 72 hrs they shouldn't be able to tow it neighbors be damned

I love my new place. I've got a bus, my neighbor had a HUGE box truck, and another neighbor parks his semi in his yard. In DOWNTOWN!
I moved from my home town over that first bus incident. It just never settled well with me and I decided when I was gona buy a home it was gonna be anywhere but there!

Well I think we should call every Rv/Motorhome/Skoolie we can find & line both sides of your street, then every 72 hrs rotate them a few parking spots.
Then make a sign for your yard that reads
"Bitch Now"

That would be an interesting way to have a suburban skoolie party. About 20 skoolies should make an impression. That way they'll never complain about your single bus again.

There wouldn't be any mosquitos remaining in that community after 20 buses crank up from cold.

Apparently there are laws against having any vehicle over 3 tons on the street, as well as doing any kind of work on a vehicle on the street. He said there are countless laws he COULD enforce, and I can't comply with all of them.
