skoolie experts needed

hi all,

so we’ve been on a search for our mid size flat nose skoolie for some time now and i just am not getting any luck with finding one. I was hoping since school is out that more of them will pop up but no luck really.

I found one that is the size we’re looking for but I think i remember reading anything newer than 2000 is an expensive mess if something breaks down :/ here’s the link for it https://www.govdeals.com/index.cfm?fa=Main.Item&itemid=926&acctid=3054

tell me ur thoughts? and please be on the lookout we really want to start converted this summer so we’ll be ready to head out next

I don't know enough about the '07 ISB 5.9 engine to say, but around '04-'05 is the time diesel emissions came into effect adding complex emissions systems to buses. The IH MaxxForce engines were a nightmare. The Ford 6.0/IH VT365 (essentially same engine) had some serious shortcomings but have good reputations if they are "bulletproofed" (not cheap or easy, especially in the Ford vans). Try staying to '04 and older if you want to avoid these emissions systems.

There is a big bus dealership near me that always has lots of used buses. You might want to give them a call. Midwest transit near whitestown INDIANA. Not far from Indianapolis.

i knew i remember seeing something about the year because of the engine or something but i couldn’t remember exactly what. we aren’t really to familiar with all the mechanics.

@milktruckman - yeah i’ve been on there, public surplus, and govtdeals for the past 6 months and haven’t really found any.

I take that to mean the bus ran up until it was parked where it is at now.
Not very clear but maybe should read "ran when parked."

My 2 cents
