I can tell you that at the end of August my bus will be going from Minnesota to that Atlantic Ocean by way of Canada and something like 18 states...

Re: SKOOLIE RALLY

Well, the worse case scenario is that you make this happen, then the "Cajun Crapper" shows up and spoils the party!!

SKOOLIE RALLY

I think a rally would be great. In Wa they have an annual event that draws a couple hundred buses. The most important part of any rally is the organizer. Then a few folks must get together to make the decisions. A few years past, I had considered having a gathering at my place in Idaho. The response was very iffy and only about 5 folks made a commitment to be involved. The events could be backing obstacle course, ditch jumping, bus baton races and a game of golf with a single club and 3 holes. One rally, I attended had drag races. An old fart ex-engineer won with a old GMC 4104 with a 400HP DD6/92. There were about 8 races. The winner got some RV heater. A rally could be patterned after the hot rod/street rod events. Now is the time for the planning. Some money will be necessary. There are many considerations. Frank

Re: SKOOLIE RALLY

Here it is folks!

We are looking to have a gathering here at crater lake resort, in Fort Kalmath. Take a tour up to the lake, and come back to the campground have a potluck, play some music an drink some beer. We were looking to do this around July 24-25, Here at the campground we have canoes to play in, a big yard for frisbee, Now we are a small campground and have full hook-ups (a great solar location), Bring your skills and hand made goods, if anyone is interested in putting on a class to teach your skills to others; then that is somthing that could be some fun as well.

If anyone is interested please respond to the post! And we will make a more in stone plan for this event.

The web site for the campground is http://www.Craterlakeresort.com (Talk with Babe)

Oh ya! we will be having some good local bluegrass coming to play one of the nights!!

Re: SKOOLIE RALLY

Hey Keith!!!
You said Salina Ks or somewhere in that area. 40 ish miles southeast of Wichita is Winfield KS. Cowley County fairgrounds is located there. It has a HUGE area and lots of electrical hookups for camping.
Every September they have a bluegrass festival there with about 10 to 15,000 people in attendance. Not all camp there. My family has been involved with working Security for the festival for the past jillion years.
I'm all for something located in KS!
Just an idea.
