Thoughts and Opinions on Purchasing a Thomas/Freightliner FS65

Hi all!

In the distant future, I am looking to buy any model year after 2001 of a Thomas/Freightliner FS65 for under $2k. Anyone have any negative type of experience with these buses? Any ideas where to get one?
Reliable? Maintenance?
Have seen lots on auction websites for under $1000. Good deal?

Thanks!

-MJ

You're leaving yourself a pretty narrow window to wriggle thru.
In 2004, the EPA mandated addition of emission control devices that really buggered up the anvil.
If you find one of even more recent vintage going for $1-2K, chances are because it's on it's last legs, and repairs'll run higher than it's worth doing.
You'd be better served, pun intended, in the long run to find yourself a 2003 or earlier.
