Trade for a bus

I have a custom motorcycle I’d like to swap for a bus. Looking for a diesel bus that’s long. Prefer no short buses. Let me know if anyone has one they would like to trade. im located near Nashville Tennessee trade value is around 5500

I bet this will be a good deal for someone. But one other option may be checking around on publicsurplus. gov

If your only requirements are “long and diesel”, you could probably get one in great shape for under 2k.

I imagine that, with a little contemplation, OP will probably find additional criteria.....

OP: Let us know what you want to do with the bus? Stationary tiny home, weekend camper, cross country travel?

A sub $2000 bus from the auctions is likely to have a low spec drive train and lots of miles.

I knew that I am going to be doing a lot of cross country trips with plenty of mountain driving. I held out for a big engine, overdrive transmission and low miles. I have only put a couple thousand miles on it so far but I can already see that I made the right choice.

So plans for the bus are to cross country travel towing my Jeep so that me and the kids can explore a little more comfortable. It would give us a base camp to come back to at each location we decided to explore. I can probably sell the bike but figured I’d try to trade it first.

Bike is a 2005 build. Has an EVO engine with a 106 big bore kit from S&S. Also S&S carb as well. 5 speed trans with a fat boy front end. New tires with about 300 miles on them. Also has a 6 gallon split fuel tank.

OK. With that in mind, I would suggest looking for buses with more powerful engine and good transmission suitable for highway travel.

I would suggest looking at buses that have either an 8.3 Cummins or The Navistar DT-466 or DT-530.

Transmission selection, you don't have many options. In full size bus your choices are the Allison MD-3060 or 2000 . Avoid the AT-545.

Thanks for the info. After watching videos and reading the forums we decided we have to have one. We had a short bus a few years ago and loved it but this time we have to go big!
