FYI, not ours. Nice price though, depending on actual condition. It looks pretty good in the pictures.

Dang, it's pretty nice, if only it weren't a pusher. We need that space in the back for our motorcycles, and already planning to pull a tandem axle trailer for a jeep.

See, these are things I would never have known.
How does the Cummins 5.9 compare? It's ubiquitous use in bluebird school buses virtually assures it is what we will have when we get a bus. If ever. Having a doubting thomas sort of day.

in my opinion, the 5.9 is one of the best skoolie engines available. It scores very high in fuel economy, reliability, price, and power. Parts if ever needed are available everywhere, as well as engine details since this is the same engine found in dodge pickups.

There are more powerful engines, like the dt466, or the 8.3? cummins. The 466 is a fuel hog, and the 8.3, although a bigger better engine, is not very common in skoolies, at least not around here. The dt466 and dt360 are great reliable engines, but fuel economy is not as good as the cummins 5.9.

The mechanically injected 5.9 is my top rated skoolie engine. Especially after you turn up the governor and hp for free. I converted 5 different buses in the past 10 years. The downside to the 5.9 is that the cylinders are not able to be changed out while the engine is in the chassis. I say "so what"? it's not like anybody rebuilds skoolie engines. That would cost more than the cost of a "new" skoolie.

Not thinking power so much as, the 6V53 wants to spin to its (28-2900RPM) governor all the time! That will get tiring in a hurry. I honestly wonder if it's actually a 6V71.

It looks like a city bus conversion to me. I wonder if it is spinning that high at 55mph. That would REALLY get old.

Doesn't look like a transit to me...looks like an actual Wanderlodge. Even if it's spinning 2500+ on the highway...the engine is 30+ feet away.
