Wanted; Blue Bird body parts or parts-bus, Northern California

I'm considering a couple major modifications to Millicent, my 1992 Blue Bird.

I could use a new (used) rear top "cap" of the body -- the piece with the school bus lights on it.

Also, the whole rear six feet of the body is of interest. Some frame rail, even.

Or a whole bus, so I can harvest these parts at my leisure. It would have to be very cheap. That said, it would be nice if it could be driven home.

Basically... I'm brainstorming here. What sort of junk Blue Bird do you have, or know of, near me?

I'm in Clearlake, Northern California -- 90 miles north of Sacramento and San Francisco.

Oh, and.... I do not know when or if Blue Bird changed the shape of that rear cap, or of the whole body. I'm thinking they must have used the same shape for several decades. If you know about this, I would be grateful to learn it.

Thanks!

Bump!
This is not a passing thought. So if there is no objection, I will bump it once in a while.
I would consider going to Oregon or Washington or Nevada for a running parts bus.
Or bring my trailer and cut off the sections I want.
Any goofy thing may be of interest.

Bump.
Still in the market for a cheap Blue Bird parts bus in Northern California. Only the rear six or ten feet matter.
Leads appreciated. Thanks!

Any job that is not yet begun... is easy to change. LOL
And I have come to my senses about lengthening Millicent. I would have to shorten the trailer the same amount, so not much net gain of cargo space.

Could still use a roof cap, though.

And an inside "cap panel" or two! This is the vertical panel that is arched to follow the curve of the ceiling -- above the windshield and above the rear door or window. Should be screwed on, so easy to remove.

You may want to contact A-Z Bus Sales in CA. They are the BB dealer for CA. I am sure that some of the buses they take in trade they send directly to the scrapper. One thing about the used buses in their inventory--most are still eligible for a CA state operating permit. That is worth a lot of $$$$. In some cases it means they have had to retrofit a particulate trap, a retrofit that usually costs the better part of $20K. New and Used Commercial, Transit, School Bus Sales - A-Z Bus Sales

You may also want to contact Western Bus Sales in OR. They are the BB for OR. I know they get in some real junk when they trade for new buses and they drive them straight to the scrapper. It nets them less when they don't prepare them but preparing buses for the scrapper takes valuable technician time. The sort of time they have very little extra available. Yes, thanks, good tips. And I'm in regular contact with both.

Also, A-Z's shop in Sacramento is where I buy new Blue Bird parts, when I occasionally need one. Marvelously friendly and helpful folks.

In fact... I need a new BB part, and I'm going to Sacramento tomorrow. So I will ask about both... salvage body parts, and a good running early 1990s bus for Albatross. Their online used bus listings don't seem to go back beyond 1997.

Still need BB body parts -- rear bumper, roof cap, interior ceiling cap.
