Won the auction, below reserve
https://m.publicsurplus.com/sms/auction/view?auc=2112711
Won this, but below reserve. Anyone have any experience with this? Do they contact you and offer a different price?

Generally if it didn't meet the reserve then nothing happens, they list it again later. You can try to contact them and see if they're willing to budge but don't expect much!

Can go either way. Some folks get them below reserve. Many just get relisted with a lower reserve.
Best of luck!

Is your buyer name Ctsiemek? While you were high bidder, you won nothing.
I see this bus has some rust, but is it bad enough this bus, with good drivetrain, didn't pull bids higher than $1600?
Only once have I been high bidder below reserve, the seller not the auction, can decide to let it go to you or not. They decided not to let me have what it was.

Tis’ I. I have had several conversations with the seller, and called immediately after the auction closed and left a voicemail. I’ll be hoping for a favorable call back.

Well, I am elated to tell you all, that my bid was accepted!! Got a DT466/Allison 2500 for $1,776 after fees. My brother in law lives 2 hours from the location, so he will be picking it up, and I was schedule to be at his house next weekend anyway. 9 days from today I will be driving my bus!!!!!

My only concerns with this bus is an admission of rust on the body, which surely means massive rust on the floor. And it needs tires $2K-$3K. Did you inspect it first?
Ohio is not at the top of my list for finding decent buses.

I spoke with the district and it seems the applied a blanket term of poor to the tires on the 10 buses they had up for auction. Judging by the pictures, the tires are in the very least, Reasonable shape.
Rust, I am not afraid of. Have a shop, welder, and know how.
For the price I am paying, can’t go wrong on this one.

So do you know where the engine is or have a pic of YOUR bus?

Yep. Confirmed all with the employee. Clear engine cover near the drivers seat. The auctions listing was clearly pretty poorly put together, but was able to put the details together talking to them, and using the identifying numbers on the bus. Pretty confident things are as they seem, but there is always a chance things are wrong. Will know soon enough.
