Home Sweet Skoolie in North Dakota

Catch this item on a couple in Williston, North Dakota, living aboard a skoolie because local housing is too expensive. Yup, they're doing OK in their 1980-something GMC/Thomas in the ND winter. Necessity the mother of invention, but inventiveness and DIY skills help.

Re: Home Sweet Skoolie in North Dakota

$1K a month for rent is ridiculous! I wonder what the area campgrounds are getting per month?

On www.campgroundreviews.com the Bismark KOA is listed at $41 per night and Hillcrest Acres Campground is listed at $22 per night but the poster complained "... The only problem is the seasonal workers are all segregated to the rear and they must travel past your site early in the morning to go to work... " darn those pesky workers! Their monthly rate is $380 for 30 amp service. So that's not too bad... except there are a total of 3 campgrounds (1 is public) listed for Bismark. So I bet they stay full on their long term sites.

Sometimes you just gotta do what you gotta do!

I went to williston in a 8' truck camper he's still out there and pays 800 a month for a spot with just 30 amp and its 15 miles from williston but he makes 1500 a week after taxes with no experience so it works out
