Party bussers here, look at this.
I just saw this clip a little bit ago. This is a good warning for those here that are not on the up and up to either get on the up or just use the bus for RV use only. If the DOT is checking them in Minneapolis DOT in other states could do the same.
http://www.myfoxtwincities.com/myfox/pa ... geId=3.2.1
There is also a link there showing in a pdf file stuff that people had been written up for.
This basicly shows how drivers are not legit to drive them and how the buses are not registered with the state and others that don't have the propper insurance to run them.

That was kind of fun to watch. It makes me a little tempted to drive my friends downtown in mine just because I know mine is legal for what I use it for. The only thing they might nail me with is an out clearance light or similar. The report was a little biased in reporting the number of violations and how all but one bus had atleast one, but the truth is that even the schools run into violations at inspection. Fortunately for them the inspections aren't when they're on the road and the problem can be remedied.
I don't know who is more to blame...the bus owners of the buses who may well not understand the laws or the people who are foolishly renting without even being reasonable about things. The bus owner NEEDS to research what they are doing, but it is difficult to get a straight answer from anyone. I think anyone on this site who has read the various insurance and registration horror stories will agree. Meanwhile we have people paying $200 for a night worth of service that should have cost $1000 and feeling offended that they were "misled."
One thing is for sure...you can bet our legal system is going to be choked down with lawsuits as a result.

That video really grinds my gears.
I dont rent out my bus for parties & after seeing that I dont really ever want to.
They make it out like party bus owners are tring to "undercut" the compition. In reality they're just having fun, trying to make a living, or doing somethig they love (I know I'd love to do that). Is there a law aginst compition in this country?
It makes me mad to see the media makeing it seem like party bus's are rolling death traps. I wonder how many professional party bus's or limos they stopped and inspected.
I wonder how many injuries were reported from the party bus's? I'm guessing none.
I wonder how much that tow bill was for that one that was towed away at the end.

I don't care what the vehicle, if someone wants to find somthing wrong with it, all they have to do is look long enough. A bus just has many more places to look. I disliked the implication that all drivers (of party buses) are dodgy and may be drinking on the job. Very dissapointing.
