She did the only thing she could - she stopped the bus. There was no option to steer clear of the truck. She covered up just before it hit her, but the bus was stopped when it did.

This ^^^
That woman was awesome, and despite the horrendous shock she remained calm, got on the radio with a lucid call for assistance and got right on with helping the students.
Whatever we pay her, it isn't enough.

I’ve watched the video multiple times and I don’t think the bus was at a full stop. She thought she was dead and gave up. I’m very happy all those students are ok but if I were the boss she would be driving a desk. When you get paid to haul people around panic isn’t a trait you look for. Sorry if I seem harsh but I am a professional driver and if I covered my eyes when something scary happens I would have been dead 30 years ago.

Ease up on the judgemental there.
Even if she wasn't at a complete stop, does that mean she took her foot off the brake pedal when she covered her face a fraction of a second before the glass hit her?
I think she was stationary, but even if not completely stopped, she behaved perfectly.
If you didn't cover your eyes in that situation, you might have been blinded 30 years ago and not driving anything.

Let me get this straight. Being dead is better than blind? Wow!

No I wasn’t. Does the video lie? Go ahead and praise someone for being lucky I’m done.

Dude, what more could she have possibly done? She could have risked glass in her eyes from a windshield impact, broken wrists from hanging onto the wheel that may have jerked it out of her hands on impact and possible lower limb damage when the impact crushed the drivers compartment. I would swear she had race car experience because she did exactly what we were taught as race drivers, let go and tuck up. By doing so, instead of possibly being injured, she was able to tend to her charges safely. It appears to me the bus was at or near stopped and she prepared for impact of the semi. There was nothing more she could have done. I say kudos to her, and she could bus my kids anytime.
This is one thing I dread driving an FE flat front.

Wow, did great job. I would ask dispatch to bring me a change clothes. And I would much rather roof and glass to hit my arms instead of face and eyes.
