Cheapest straight veg oil? (not 'waste')

With hearing some people say waste fryer oil costing up to $2.50/gallon (!) in a previous post but diesel being the same at this point, what bulk plant oils are the cheapest you can get or/and buy bulk? I'm wondering at what point it almost makes sense to go with fresh plant oil (due to market anomalies or whatever) with no worries about filtering out gunk and crap.

What oils are usable and what do they tend to cost? What regional variations are you familiar with in cost?
