You missed one other option:
completely cover your bus in solar panels so that the bus is always in the shade! It's essentially like building a "safari roof" or "double roof".

covering the roof in solar doesnt shade the sides like full shade does.. lots of heat gets in from the side and windows.. solar roof makes it nice for charging batteries.. but I still dont think you keep the panels cool enough to be super efficient and also keepthe bus cool..

not to mention the huge expensive heavy battery packs....

I just got a great deal on the Trojan T105 batteries here in Richmond VA at Nationwide golfcart battery. I am in no way affiliated with them, nor do i benefit if anyone buys from them, just sharing where to get the deals on my side of town
