Veggie by Christmas, can it be done?

Yikes, the wife just bought into the idea of converting to veggie, but she wants it to be done by Christmas. I have been educating myself for the conversion but I haven't found a plan or kit that I want to get. Do any of you have a kit or plan that is definitely the one to use for my bus. I have a 5.9 Cummings engine, and a p-pump. I have an oil source that will provide me with virtually clean veggie for nearly free. what do you guys suggest.

It can be done for sure! I did mine in about that time and the closest home depot is 1 1/2 away. I'm in Europe at the moment but would love to help. I got the 5.9 aswell.

where in michigan are ya?

you can do it in one weekend!

However, veggie oil is very unfriendly in the winter time. I burned about 1,000 gallons in one summer, but gave up on winter time use.

Re: Veggie by Christmas, can it be done?

I live near Sturgis, MI. Its a small town on the southern border about directly south of Kalamazoo.

I think I will let the conversion go this time. There are so many things that have to be planed for and making sure its right and reliable makes it prohibitive for me. I have been looking at Golden Fuel's web site and have sent emails and pics but I think they will be to expensive to consider. The Golden Fuel option would have taken care of the short time issues as well as the done carefully and right concerns. Money seems to be getting short now too. It makes me mad when I can't afford to spend a little money to save it for the long term.

The Christmas dead line was to be able to use veggie to take the bus to the in-laws. They live in Alabama. The veggie conversion would have saved the fuel cost as well as motels and have our own place to stay in when at the in-laws. My in-laws don't have much room and trying to get away for some needed private time is impossible.

Re: Veggie by Christmas, can it be done?

Look find some 55 gallon drums and start filling them with WVO now. Thats the harder part. The actual conversion will only take about a week and can cost around $600. It's not that hard if your mechanically inclined.
