What did you use to design the plan?

Fusion360 is available for free for "students".

Personally, I learn something new everyday. I will be a student till the day I die.....

AS someone has said, there really are limited options on placing the same components. Check-out the existing plans

I used Illustrator- use whatever you are comfortable in. Ive seen layouts done in Visio flow-chart SW.

Google sketchup is free, has bus models.


....and then when you build, plan goes out the window and you "wing-it".

Google SketchUp ,the free one is nice has a bit of a learning curve.

Thank you for the replies. I have tried using exiting plans but I am wanting three separate rooms (two kids) rather than them having bunks. We will be gone for 7 years and I want them to have a place to grow up in. Just hard to place it all in one box. So, I am wanting to add the bedrooms on top of the bus I believe but then again it has to be short enough to go under bridges.

With a 12"-18" roof raise, you could put a loft bed over the driving area. It's on my " someday" list.

Take out the seats put down your sub floor get some painters tape and cheap string and map out your walls and items.

I tired for weeks to design a layout on the computer, worthless in the end really, just use your brain and string and tape.

Others have suggested metal tent camping to get a feel for where you want stuff.

Crawl underneath and take measurements and look for places to put your tanks/gen/etc.

Some people don't like entrance door up front as copilot seat missing, so they close it off and use old stairwell for generator. Then get RV door for further down bus.
