Florida rv title instructions

I’m going to share this on a couple threads. Keywords: Florida title RV
Florida Insurance

Attached is the EXAMPLE TL-13-05 form titled Certificate of title requirements for Recreational Vehicles...
You have to type or write your own up.
Mine said:
This is to certify that I, Sandra Blankenship, owner of a 2003 Amtran, VIN XXX, hereby request the vehicle be classified as recreational vehicle for the following reason:
Installed 110 V electrical wiring and installed plumbing system.
Sign your name. THAT’S IT.
Additionally, if anyone tells you it has to be inspected, tell them to call the supervisor at the field operations south district headquarters in West Palm Beach. Her name is Ursula, and the phone number is 561–640–6820. Tell them that according to Ursula it does not have to be inspected.

It certainly comes up a lot. Some folks are willing to pay 3x normal price because a dealer will submit that simple form. I took my title to the tag office with that ^ written on notebook paper and got my title change in ten mins for free.
Thx for posting that!

Florida Bus to RV

I walked into the Citrus County DMV with the AFFIDAVIT FOR CHANGE OF BODY TYPE that the DMV has on their website for Florida. It is a simple form. It does not ask about what you did to convert. My only fail was not having a weight slip. We drove it to a quarry that was very close and they weighed the bus for us and gave us a weight slip. I went back to the DMV and the change was immediate. We bought the bus from an auction and the DMV sighed (loudly) because they had no idea as to whether the man from the school board had the authorization to sign as seller. After a call to the school board i walked out with my motohome title.

You are welcome. I'm glad it will help.
p.s. I did not need a weight slip to get the title changed.

Ive heard of a few people changing their title to rv or truck. Do you have any info on how to go about doing this?
Also what part of Florida are you from.
Were over here in Sarasota

Hi there... see the very first post in this thread for the instructions on changing title to RV aka motor home. It's a super easy process.
I'm in Stuart, on east coast, just above Palm Beach.

Thank you for your reply. Both ways look pretty easy but I won't have to weigh it if I go your way. Heck, I could don't bother in the same visit.

Went in with the title from the seller today. I also brought a copy of the TL-13-05 I typed up. I already had commercial insurance on the bus as well. Took about 30 minutes once I was past the waiting area but I now have a registered motorhome with a shiney new tag and decal.

Where did you get your commercial insurance from? We just won a bus at auction today and I can't find anyone who will touch insurance on our bus.

I found him on here. I called up and asked for Mark. Once I got him on the line I explained how I got his number and I had insurance a day or so later. It is commercial and cost an arm and a leg up front but so be it.

Scribe... did you have your bus stored in Stuart last year? There was a guy from WPB that had their bus stored at Cube Smart (where I have a storage unit). I'm up the road from you.
