Good Sam Insurance

Just got a cold call from Good Sam looking to insure my RV. I asked for a quote to compare with my State Farm policy. Good Sam said they only do liability and don't offer Comp/Coll. For liability only they quote me $275 every 6 months. Not even close to the $97 for the year for liability and $303 for the YEAR of Comp/Coll. that I'm paying State Farm @$25/m

Still, not a bad alternative to Progressive CFPU that many are stuck with. State Farm isn't available nationwide. Thnx for the heads up.

That's high for just liability.

State Farm is available in every state in the union. There are 30 cities with SF offices in Ok. Some have more than 10 offices.

Yes, but what vehicles they are willing to cover, with what types of policies and at what rates varies radically from state to state.

And also depending on whether the customer approaches them directly, or via a supportive and this-niche-experienced agent.

We've tried multiple SF agents in S. Dakota. They won't insure us living full time in a converted school bus. They offer the service for existing customers, but won't let us switch over to SF even if we add our car. Makes no sense, to me anyway.

As others have mentioned, available coverage varies by state. Here in WA i have had good luck with State Farm. I referred another skoolie to State Farm and they wouldn't write just the bus but did work with him to move their auto coverage and then the bus.

Another detail: Independent brokers represent many carriers but cannot write State Farm policies. If you go into your local State Farm office they (with a few exceptions) cannot write policies for other carriers. Check with both..
