Insurance for Passengers

Has anyone gotten insurance to cover your passengers on a skoolie? I would like to have a good policy in place so that in a worst case scenario all individuals involved are covered.

Thanks
Brian

Coverage varies by state, carrier and policy.

The medical I carry on all of my vehicles covers driver and passengers.

Your best source of information about this is likely your insurance agent.

My agent said that none of the companies he talked to would write a policy for a bus conversion.. basically shut me down so I guess I will have to shop around for a new agent for the bus.

What is the most common practice when doing a bus like this? Taking a risk and not having insurance cover your passengers or paying out the nose to have them covered?

Neither.

Most of us have reasonable coverage that covers driver and passengers.

Did you tell your agent it was a bus conversion or have you retitled it as an RV and shopped for RV (liability) insurance?

Right now I have progressive insurance as a commercial truck for private use. No coverage for my passengers if I am at fault. If I am not at fault, its 2M. Either way, I will not let people ride with me until I get insurance to cover them. I need to go to the DMV today and see what my options are for registering it pre-conversion.
