Insurance going up, way up
I used to insure with GMAC now National General for $250 a year, with a very clean driving record, no tickets or accidents in the last 11 years, 51 year old driver.
Now for the most basic liability insurance, the best quote that I can get is $950 a year.
I have tried AIS, ($1200) National general, ($950)and Progressive. Unable.
This is getting serious, and should be part of your purchasing plan.
And this is in Utah, where insurance was cheap.
Things are changing, and getting worse.

Da hell!!! I'm 49 with a 3 year old ticket (but nothing for 15-20 years prior to that) and mine is only about 720 a year in TN.... also through NatGen.
That's on a 2005 bus btw.

My commercial policy with a fair amount of actual coverage is only $700 a year.
WOuld be $600 but I was late on a payment. They penalize the hell outa ya for that, apparently.

Got my yearly renewal stuff- back to $600 again, so I paid in full for the year to save like $70.
Hoping next year I can get it down to maybe $500. One has to dream, right?

I would think the minimum insurance coverage levels required per state might have an effect:
Utah:
$25,000 bodily injury liability per person
$65,000 bodily injury liability per accident
$15,000 property damage liability per accident
$3,000 personal injury protection
Tenn:
$25,000 bodily injury liability per person
$50,000 bodily injury liability per accident
$15,000 property damage liability per accident
Florida:
$10,000 property damage liability per accident
$10,000 personal injury protection
Florida minimum insurance should be what? half of Utah and Tenn.

I guess. I only buy what's legally required to drive. Insurance is just a tax on us.

I went through a local progressive agent, not the online form. Everyone who tries to insure their bus/rv "conversion" and uses that online form are who get cancelled.
I'd imagine I'd get a discount adding another bus and would end up with a similar amount as your two, but who knows. I'll find out when I finally get a deal on a nice shorty with a DT360 or 466 .

I didnt go online, I called on the phone directly and did it with both busses that way... and selected international '380' (they dont have 3800.. they call it 380 lol)..
yeah i defintiely have a discount for multi vehicle on them... that little bird with a T-444E runs pretty good.. I see lots of those around getting ready to age out..
of course I know of 2 in columbus ohio that are DT-466 bluebird 6 window.. so im guessing they are MT-643? or did they make a 545 which could handle a 466.. of course those are DT-466E's.. I imagine those little busses will take off pretty good.. unfortuntalely they will be somewhat rusty being columbus ohio Blue-birds... (always around the roof rivets!).. my next door neighbor said thosewill be aged out pretty soon since the school levy passed..
in fact maybe thats a ticket to a bus!.. search for districts that had levies pass in the election and hit them up for busses!

Could be a 545, 643 or one of the newer Allisons. In a shorty, I'd even consider a 545 if the bus and the deal are right!

Maybe I'll find out- I'm the high bidder on one. But I win one out of every fifty I bid on so far!
