Insurance in Michigan

I used to have AAA for everything but when I got my bus they said they wouldn't cover it. I went to GMAC and got coverage but now they will not renew it. I just want liability coverage.

Re: Insurance in Michigan

I'm in Texas but I got liability only through National General.

Might be worth your time to call them, I got mine on the phone not online.

Running into the same problem in Michigan

Apparently Michigan isn't a friendly state for skoolies. I was going to purchase a retired school bus to convert into a modest RV, possibly use some to take kids up to a couple church camps, but I can't get insurance. Good Sam referred me over to what used to be GMAC, who didn't have anything for a converted bus. Progressive said, "Not in Michigan you don't! We won't cover it!" Apparently it's gotten to the point that it's impossible to possess a bus unless you're a church, business, or school! This blew a deal for a school bus I was going to purchase and now I'm not sure I want to even think about the idea. I'm beginning to think insurance agents are the spawn of Satan.

Got a question for you guys. How does the no-fault insurance work where you guys are from? I'm pretty sure Michigan is a no-fault state. If that's the case, how does your insurance policies work? I would think that there would be no such thing as liability insurance if you're always responsible for your own accident, and if that's the case, you'd have to get a comprehensive insurance policy which wouldn't be cheap(or maybe even possible).

I just bought a shuttle in Michigan. I sure hope I can find insurance. If not I will have to resell it. I can not even keep it on my property unless it is tagged and insured.
