Insurance on American Tradition Title?

Hi!
If a title is listing a school bus as having "Make: American Tradition" and vehicle is not currently insured, what will that do for insurance post conversion? I thought American Tradition was a RV Company?

Maybe they made some buses also. Check the VIN and decode it.

This is what I got...

"The VIN decodes to a 2002 International 3000 with a 7.3L V8 DIESEL engine."

I'm so confused. Is International and American Tradition the same thing/interchangeable?

Google leads me to believe American Coach/Fleetwood makes them, so they probably buy the International chassis and build on it.

It seems to me it's a situation similar to IH and other bus body manufacturers. IH built the chassis/engine, and it was shipped to American Coach/Fleetwood as an unfinished vehicle. Once it left the second factory, just like a Blue Bird or any other brand of bus, it is considered a finished vehicle. The second factory issues a Certificate of Origin (IH may have done this for the chassis as well; the second factory either keeps it or submits it with their own); this certifies the vehicle's weight, wheelbase, GVWR, and that the vehicle meets all relevant safety and emission rules as of the date of manufacture.

What the insurance calls it, what the title and tag department calls it, and what you call it when it comes time for repair can be different things. You will be servicing an IH chassis with the 7.3 engine (same thing as many school buses and IH trucks). As far as insurance, they'll figure it out and so will the title/tag office.

Ok, good, it sounds like everything is correct and in order from what you guys are saying. I was really puzzled. Looks like registration and insurance will just move along as they need to, and I won't worry about it. Unless insurance drops me at some point down the road like some of you folks have had happen...
