That's what I was thinking when I first picked the bus up. But my GMC has "Vandura 3500" badge on the fenders.
As I see vans around it seems the Chevrolet branded vans of this era have G series numbering and GMC vans have the 3500 etc numbering(?). Not sure why Chev/Gmc use different number scheme? Probably so people can tell the difference between them?

I'm not sure if I did it right, but when I punched in the VIN# on the Geico website it came up as a g30 cube van.

Yep, the VIN is for the van chassis. I told my agent about it being a short bus but they went off the VIN # and insured it as a van. They were more concerned about it not being used commercially or to haul people.

Luckily we only had 8 seats to take out
My seat removal progression
First seat: carefully remove bolts with socket and wrench. set seat in yard hoping to find a use for it.
by the time I got to the Last seat: Grinder w/cutoff wheel and sawzall, throw chunks and pieces of what used to be a seat out the back door.
Currently working on updated pic's.
