Is Comprehensive Insurance Even a possibillity?

Hi Guys!

We have been insured with GMAC insurance with a liability policy since we started converting our bus, but now we're looking for a little more.
Do any of you have comprehensive policies on your bus to protect you and your possessions against things like fire and theft?

I have pounded the pavement this morning and called 6 major RV insurance companies with no results, all of them refuse to insure a bus that is not "professionally" converted.

We've thought about getting personal effect coverage on things like our power inverter, batteries, TV, water heater etc. or finding a non-corporate insurer.
Any ideas?

What is their idea of "professional"? Maybe try leapfrogging with just saying that it has been professionally converted.

Yeah I carry comprehensive on Lurlene. I put too much into her not to be covered. Costs me $40 a month (State Farm). I also have $5000 in contents covered in that monthly charge with no deductible. Just recently had to replace our awning. Cost me $500 for a new awning and 1 1/2 hrs of my time, State Farm paid $1150 with no deductible. I would say that if you have a real investment and want to protect it. Insure it. Do I like to pay for insurance. No. I've been with State Farm for years and they've always paid without question and even represented me in a $6 billion lawsuit (f**king ambulance chasers) where I did not have to pay one penny. So if you do get comprehensive...go with someone good. Best of luck!

Totally agree! I've had American Family for years and they have never denied payment and even call occasionally with ways to let me pay even less! If you actually HAVE SOMETHING OF VALUE then it is worth insuring. Guns don't pay the bills any more than pessimism will progress your life! hehe

Ruin your life? Isn't that a little extreme?

Grow up and don't be so defensive.....it's not about you. I don't pretend to have the slightest clue as to what makes YOU tick.

Ahhhh! Profanity the truly overused crutch of the ignorant. If you don't like being questioned then keep your mouth shut. You can't run with the big dogs when you pee like a puppy. This is stale......later. Good luck figuring a way to insure your stuff Fifer. RECYCLER
