Kansas Insurance / Title Help

I just purchased a 1990 Chevy B60 and have been getting educated on this forum. Is there any Skoolies from Kansas that can lend some advice or contacts to get my insurance and title work completed as painless as possible ?

Thanks,

Brian

Welcome!

It really depends on which DMV office you go to.

I'm a TX resident stationed at Fort Riley (Geary County)...

1. Any intel on how they are to work with? Military towns are often not easy to do business in.

2. Can I go to a different office? It's a state issue, not county, correct?

3. I'm assuming I can do the title work in KS, even though I'm not a resident. Check or hold?

Bought my bus last year...i live in a rural county.

The tag office will want a weight...i got my bus emptied and weighed asset the local co-op. Weighed 14500..in ks, the taxes are determined by weight...so empty it. Mine costs about 150/yr yup keep on the road.

You want to title as an rv. They will ask if it is "self contained" - i replied that it was. No pictures, no inspection, just asked. Anyway.

Insurance- i have mine with state farm...$4.72 a month for liability...with tow. (where is your spare? Ha)

Reading the nightmares that other states have....glad to be here. About 200 bucks a year to keep it legal.

You are supposed to tagalong in your county...but it i lived in Wichita...i wouldbe make the drive to welington...give them fake address in order to avoid sg county. Then a month later process change of address...once you had cleared getting the title work done.
