Liscensing and insuring as a van....

I have a '63 Dodge Shorty and just changed the title from Idaho to New Mexico and registered it here in NM. I had the State Police come and verify the VIN as it was an out-of-state vehicle. He classed it as a van and that is what I registered and insured it as. He realized that it was being converted to a home. I insure all my vehicles through Horace Mann and this cost me $180 a year for basic liability at my state's minimum limit.

My question to you all is: "is there some advantage to titling and registering as an RV vs van?" I see where if the choice was RV vs Bus, there would be some obvious concerns....

Thanks,
Brian
