I went online to USAA a week ago before I bought my bus and got a policy through Progressive. They said I needed "cooking, refrigeration, sleeping, bathroom facilities, self-contained heating and/or air conditioning, drinkable water supply system, and 110-125 volt electrical power supply system"

I put a crock pot, ice chest, sleeping bag, bucket, propane heater, gallon jug of water, and extension cord in it just so I wouldn't feel like a liar. I'll keep this thread updated if I get a cancellation.

I noticed that big_bertha posted in January that he got insurance through Progressive in Washington. Did he get his coverage cancelled? I didn't see an update.

Expect to get another letter in a week or two from Progressive saying they're cancelling your policy since they no longer insure school bus conversions. That's pretty much been par for the course for them. I'll be stuck having to go with a commercial policy because New Jersey is extremely fussy with who's allowed to underwrite here

I did that same thing the first time I had a bus. With usaa and all.
Got into a small fender bender and they flat denied me coverage. Just a word of warning. Dealing with their legal team and losing wasn't fun.

That didn't take long. Just got my cancellation from Progressive. 21 days worth of insurance for $38.30. Glad I didn't get in a wreck, because they probably wouldn't have paid.

Quote on the commercial policy was $72/month. That's not too bad, but more than triple what the non-commercial policy was for less coverage.

Goofballs!

Of course if you'd been in a wreck, your BB would have been less worse for the wear than if I flipped my Winnie.

Or.... you might have been ticketed for leaving the scene of an accident after some bonehead texting while driving rear ended you and you didn't even feel it. (THUD! "Honey, what was that?")

Sounds like a great place for a RALLY. Just where is PROGRESSIVES HQ anywho?

We could all just caravan around their HQ. Maybe they even have parking for us to camp for the night.

If you dig a little deeper you can find their definition of a non-professional conversion. It clearly says that they don't do school busses. I wish that would've been a little more clear when I bought the insurance.

Yeah I registered with progressive and didn't initially see the "no school buses" part, but saw it before submitting and did it anyway. I got my cancellation notice a few days ago. I still had a national general policy though, I was just shopping for lower rates.
