Registering and insuring...

I have looked through some threads... And I have a question. If it's been asked before, I apologise.

If the most common way to get insurance before you convert it is " commercial for non commercial use "... Can you just register it commercial? You already are insuring a commercial vehicle.
Wondering if anyone has tried it.

I've heard some people say, the first thing is to stop calling it a bus. Call it a camper. Some commercial insurance might run expensive. It is all about talking to the right person.

In my experience, with a cutaway short bus, I called different companies and was given the run around. Lastly, I called my All-State agent, and he offered a self converted rv insurance for 138/year. Not sure what it covers, but I just need it to get the tag.

Good luck

If you register it as commercial you may find more hassles- CDL, DOT #, apportioned tags, weigh stations, etc.
