I'm getting my morning stone on, but later I'm gonna try and write down a list of days to prioritize so I can meet as many new friends and see as many old friends as possible.
If anyone posting to this thread knows what days they'll be there please let me know.
Looking like I'm going to drive the bus out then park it for the duration of the event and use the miata for getting to and from the event.

I'm coming down from the H.O.W., so the morning of the 3rd, I guess. I've got a free room that night in Ocala (points), so I'll probably come back the morning of the 4th. Got to pick my dog up in Savannah at my brother-in-laws place, so I'll probably head back that afternoon and try to make Wilmington before too late at night

We did have a near freeze earlier this week.

long range looks like a decent amount of rain early swarm week but getting nice toward the end... of course we are talking 10-14 day forecasts here which are marginally accurate at best

We've got kick ass heat. although it's under the fold out sofa.. So if we have a guest and use the heat they're gonna be extra toasty.

I may just drive the miata tomorrow. Supposed to be nice weather.
I want to give the bus a good wash and I still wana do the transmission fluid.
Gonna hold off on the fuel filters till I put the rest of this tank through since its sat for most of a year.

What was the HOW thing like?

Was stuff being sold?

Well, There were some really good people. The actual presentations were probably geared to someone who's lurked here and on Youtube a little less than I have. It was very informative to look at the various approached to builds.

Re: stuff for sale. There were people selling crafts of varying types/qualities. There was one person selling a dyi skoolie book. There were are least two people selling their buses.

Was the diy book this one-

If so I'm glad I missed it. The above book is written by opportunistic hacks.

Yep. that's the book. Honestly, just looking at people's approaches to their conversions was informative. The crowd was a pretty mixed combination of the curious and people like me, who are on some part of the path to actually doing this.

The good part was that I did get a LOT of practical suggestions, and some affirmation about how many different ways there are to skin this cat.

Man I was wondering if "jeff and missy" were gonna try to cash in on all this. Sad.
Someone from their "company" came on here and trolled a while back.

Their Yelp reviews say it all.

Well, without characterizing anyone, there were probably 3-4 people who were on the outsourcing/consulting side of the world who were there.

btw, I don't want to divert this thread, but I put a couple of auctions of interest on the non-affiliated thread. I'd love you opinions. Thanks, See you Monday

I'll be able to come and go easily.

We are going to be there. Get the tires on? The rest of the stuff is not much if a concern, but the old tires were a bit past prime.... glad you got a good deal on replacements.

I think the plan is to convoy from here to the swarm tonight. We need gas and groceries before we get there.

A big greyhound type bus came in late last night. Can't tell if it has. Roof raise or was a stratocruiser

Are there many new buses since yesterday? I'm just going to show up for a bit today... Saw a couple of pretty decent possibilities on the auction site this morning.

I'd value any input:

There's a Scenicruiser in Belleview. Greenish color.
yeah got the tires on. They ride ok. The others were just weather cracked. These have good tread except one has some damage. No biggie. They're LOUD though. I was expecting it. For my use they're perfect. They also look really good on the bus!
