2107 solar eclipse southeast Idaho, anyone coming?

I keep hearing about all these people that are supposed to show up in southeast Idaho in August to view the solar eclipse. The local news reports that all the hotel rooms, campgrounds, ect are already sold out for the week of it. Is anybody on here going to be in the area for the big event? I live about 30 miles west of Rexburg and my house is a mile south of the exact center of the track of it, should be a cool thing to observe!

I doubt any of us will be alive to make the trip.

haha - sounds like a great reason to bus.

i'm a going to see it somewhere. Alliance, NE is the closest to my abode. but that event will be one worthy of travel. Idaho isn't out of the question. if we all make it, that is.

2017, perhaps? Actually the map indicates that there is likely to be quite a show even states away. See https://www.nasa.gov/feature/goddard...in-the-shadow/

They say the west is a better spot to be because of the lower percent chance of cloud cover. That would suck if you spent alot of money to go someplace to watch it and it ended up being a rainy day

Yes, but it would be a DARK rainy day for awhile...

We live just inside the 90% line on NASA's map: I believe we'll watch from our front porch, and wish everyone else well.

I am about perfect line up just on the Idaho Oregon border. Anyone want to hang out for it? I live on a ranch and can have a couple of busses visit. Would need to be boondock but you know if you're in the area.

I'm in Southern Illinois, where a few sources said the totality will be! I wanted to have my conversion at least UNDERWAY by then, but so far I still got nothing lol Even so I'm excited for the eclipse!!
