Another trip right around the corner

Tuesday morning it's off to https://maricopacountyparks.org/lake-pleasant a short trip but a nice visit to our favorite campsite=24!

Our Norwegian Forest Cat Spooky will be traveling with us for her first multi-day trip and first campout. She hates traveling, so far, but loves our company so hopefully it will go well.
She is an in/out cat and she must be harnessed when outside in a campground. So far she's ok with her "Kitty Holster".

I'm going to rig a zip line for more mobility when leashed and of course lots of her things. I also have a folding cage that hangs on a window to allow her to be outside while inside and safe.

Any suggestions for other cat folks is welcome.

Spooky is an example of cats having 9 lives. She was locked in a shed for 17 days w/o food or water.
As she exited the shed, I ran to get water and some food for her but she was more interested in cuddling with us at the moment.
My eyes leaked.....

Thanks! I'm really not a cat person but she adopted us on Oct 23 '16 and she's very special.

I know what you mean. We had a cat once that stayed up in the rafters of our garage for the better part of a month... She didn't even look very skinny when she finally decided to come out...

Our kitty, Puerco (a little fatty) , is slowly getting used to bus life. She's always really bad on the first day of travel, but then it doesn't seem to bother her. She's normally very skittish around loud noises/people/other cats. However, when we're in a quiet spot she will tolerate the harness and leash and explore outside. However, at the first sign of "danger" she can squeeze right out of the harness and haul ass in the bus...

Here she is enjoying the driver's seat!

I have a couple of questions:
1. where did you get the cat harness? My cat (who looks a lot like Spooky!) hates the "dog" harness I got him
and
2. How does that folding cage attach to the window/side of bus? My boy so wants to be outside, I think this might make him very happy!

We are on our camping trip and I found a signal. Spooky is doing very well as our bus cat, very well with the whole experience. Her harness is called a Kity Holster and it's the LG size. She has not been able to back out of it, very secure. I will post pics of the cat house and how unattached to the bus soon. It's a very simple set up. Home Friday..... see ya!

We are home safe. Spooky did a remarkable job of adapting to her first bus experience. She went from hiding and crying to a real bus pro in short order.

Click on the pic to see the album I am building.

There's pics of the cage (cat house) attachment using common peg board hooks...Worked perfectly.

it would be nice to have a travelling companion.. but no matter how I slice it my Kitty is a land-lubber.. you even show try to pick him up to carry him to the car or bus and he is spread eagle.. its nothing but claws teeth and screams... lol..
