Camp Zoe Get together 2008

I have started this string for the people who are interested in the get together at Camp Zoe in June. The dates decided on are June 14th and 15th. There are a few of us that have already commited to this trip. If there are any questions about the campground that can't be answered here call 573-858-3333. That is camp zoe's number. Camp zoe is located near Salem, Mo. I plan to arrive at the camp on friday the 13th and stay until monday the 16th. Come one come all, be there or be square.

Re: Camp Zoe Get together 2008

Same here, I am planning to come but it is too far in the future for me to commit to it right now. I would have a lot of work to do on the bus before then.

Does anyone want to caravan there? We could each meet up at places at sections we would all be running and then drive down together. Then at least we can help each bus get there if they need it.

How great would an old fashioned convoy of skoolies be!

I'll be there unless I'm deployed or something. I doubt it. Hopefully, I'll have some A/C running in my bus by then!

It's gonna be a blast. I hope we can get a big crowd together. I know with fuel prices like they are some can't justify the expense, and I would not want anyone to make a bad choice. We are using our vacation budget a chance to get together with what I would consider to be like minded people does'nt come around that often. If you can afford the expence and the time BE THERE OR BE SQUARE! My active topics search is broke too.

Being of Cherokee decent when I see the busses in a circle, I will try to resist the urge to burn them to the ground and steal all of the Women and children. I am scheduled to have surgery the 28th of this month, if there are no complications I will be there. remember BE THERE OR BE SQUARE if you can.

Re: Camp Zoe Get together 2008

Fellow skoolies,
It hurts me to advise all of you that I can not attend the get together. Allthough I am doing great I had a little touch of heart surgery. This has caused me to miss enough work that I can no longer afford the trip. I hope those that go have a great time and I will try to make the next one.sometimes it's just not in the cards.

Re: Camp Zoe Get together 2008

Joan and I were planning on going but I just replaced my last pair of old tires on the bus at $650 so money is tight right now. I now have 6 new tires on the bus so that shouldn't rear it's ugly head again. Also with the waters so high we aren't sure they will be doing canoe trips and we wanted to canoe. Just isn't in the works this year. We were looking forward to seeing everyone and their skoolies and are sad we won't this year. sportyrick

Re: Camp Zoe Get together 2008

We're trying to get back to Zoe for this weekend...our Skoolie is already there We know of a few people that have done some kayaking down the river this year...

Sounds like there wont be a big turnout, but we hope to see you there...

...if not this weekend, there are plenty more open weekends at Zoe this summer, as well as next.

Well, I won't be able to make it. I just can't afford the $600 in diesel. That's a conservative estimate too. I really wanted to go too. I sure am disappointed with the price of fuel. It's not going to stop me from finishing and using my bus, but it's certainly going to limit how much I'm able to drive it around.

Re: Camp Zoe Get together 2008

I know that right now I'm the squarest person at skoolie .net and I apologize but it was completely out of my hands. Now for the trip that I did make, we could afford to go to Hot Springs. We went to a lake that is only 58 miles from home and it cost 80 bucks to get buster there. We had a blast(I was kind of celebrating still being alive) the grandkids swam and we met some nice people and had a ball. We camped at a private resort on the water for 30 bucks a night. That might seem a little steep to camp but it was worth it. They let me store buster there for 15 dollars a month. I am going to leave him there until turkey season this fall then move to the hunting lease for the winter. It might be worth checking the price to store your rig close to a camping area, I'll bet it will be cheaper than driving it.
