Question Can you paint the rubber flooring?

We have a crown bus (this was a Mine Bus, then a church bus prior to us getting it) ... we have several places that have access to things like air lines and radiator lines. This has to be left as is to keep access. Our flooring is in excellent shape but I was wondering if it would be possible to either paint it or coat it in like an elastameric roof coating? Any suggestions welcome. If I didn't have to leave the 15'' open the whole length of the bus and 2 other access points I would use laminate flooring.
Also considering the laminate tiles and cutting and piecing the opening's to keep the access.

I plan on laying either bamboo flooring or PVC tiles over my Crown's original Armstrong rubber flooring. The rubber is only about 1/8" thick, so you won't gain any appreciable headroom by taking it up. You may however want to remove the curved coving along the edges to make it easier to fit furniture/cabinets/etc - there's a strip of curved steel under the rubber that's screwed into the wall and nailed to the floor, not easy to remove! Whatever I do, I'll keep my floor hatch that provides access to the fuel tank (I have a RE bus).

What model and year is your Crown?

John

for whatever it is worth.... we have a few areas on the rubber floor at the bus entrance that we spilled some metal paint on.... about 5 years ago. Still sticking to the rubber perfectly.

My nephew painted his atv seat. Now every time he rides there is red paint stuck to his jeans that will not come out.

Thank you all for your input. I decided to try the cool coat on a spot that came up and will be hidden under the bed. I will do a few coats and let it dry a day between. Then hit it wwith a Pressure washer. I also talked to a local paint store who says they can tint it also

My neighbor back in the 80's was a meth head and he painted his shag carpet with water based latex paint.
