You talking about a camping weekend, or just an afternoon to swap lies? Might consider weekend in Elkhart, IN area for prowling the RV surplus places.

I was thinking June 17-19, for the entire weekend. I need a little more time to work on the bus. The IN area is close by so I think that can work also. I'm off the 90/94 highway. Let's make this happen...

To get the ball rolling I have tentatively set aside the dates of July 29-30-31 on my calendar for a parts scavenge mini rally in Elkhart, IN. No set plans for any kind of event, just a meet and tell lies. There are some excellent RV surplus places in the area, I know where most if not all of them are, and can help steer you to the right one based on what you need. One of the best

Bontragers Surplus Inc.

is closed Sat, but open at noon on Sunday, so plan accordingly. You can't see them all in one day. I might even start on Thursday if there is any interest.

I plan on using the Elkhart campground.

Elkhart Campground

I've stayed there and it is nice with reasonable rates.

There is also the RV Hall of fame to visit.

RV/MH Hall of Fame - Museum - Library - Conference Center

If there is any interest, please let me know soon so that I can make my reservations. Mumsywumsy probably won't go, we are going to be at the Flxible rally the week before, and she really doesn't like prowling around looking at "ideas".
Note, all reservations are responsibility of each person. Don't forget your towed.

Those dates should work for us as well. Unfortunetly pretty booked up until then.

But would be down to meet up and swap some lies anytime as well.

Is anyone interested in this? If not I'll just drive car to surplus places, much cheaper.

Here's a link to a map of the ones I know about, it you're looking for something specific I may be able to point you in the right direction.

RV Surplus stores

Johnson's and Bontragers are probably best with good selection and prices. RV Parts Nation is expensive, she used to be one of the best, got rid of a lot of inventory and moved uptown, trying to be a Campers World.

RV wise im mainly just lookimng for some type of table I can riase / lower or take in and out easily as part of a dinette... my Bus as a whoile is staying more a bus.. so im looking for a lot more School bus parts.. but tables and dinettes certainly may be something i can find at a surplus store.. or just walk around and get ideas..

llast trip i went US-33 up to US-30 and across to ft wayne.. but not sure that was the best route... US-33 as far as i could go might be the best way.. I may take the bus next trip as I keep working on stuff and use small road trips as a test of things to see how it will handle when I get into my 1000+ milers...

once ProAir gets me a date on my A/C , heater pieces I'll know more when im going to pass through... probably a weekday thiough as the ProAir is not open on weekends..
