Driving to Yucatan

Has anyone here driven to the Yucatan in an RV or Bus? We are planning on doing so this winter and could use some advice in our conversion project. We are having problems trying to figure out what size water tank we need, etc. Thanks again.

Re: Driving to Yucatan

We have 100 gallon holding in the form of two tanks right now. We've got about a 30 gallon black and 20 grey. Our plan is to basically not use the black tank down there but instead take out our RV toilet and use a composting toilet instead (5 gallon bucket with a seat). I think our grey water tank could be dumped anywhere outside/near a farm or in some of the ditches I've seen in Mexico. We'll call that one as we go. I think we'll also install a water dispenser for those big five gallon clear plastic jugs you can buy. I think that is the best we can do. To have a bigger grey water tank means some serious welding and we're not up for that. Any other tips people come up with would be greatly appreciated. I wish I could find someone that has done it. When I go on the AARP websites - they're all about safety and protecting their rigs. Hmm.
