East Coast Gathering of Bus-Folk

I'm going to go ahead and say lets have a nice, sunny east coast get-together sometime soon. Some of us may not get to make it to Palooza and would still like to get together with some other skoolies. There's a real feeling of "community" to this, and that extends to the real world... not just limited to this forum. I'm met some really cool, amazing folks on this forum. Some come by for visits and hang out regularly. We have some really talented and friendly folks on here and I just love getting to meet people.
Lets get this conversation going and see what we can put together. I've got a place with plenty of room. I wide open field in the country. Located about 30 miles north of Orlando.

I'm down.... 1300 mile round trip is easily a lot more feasible that 3600. Hopefully I'll be well along in my conversion by the time this comes around.

I am totally in for that! You've figured out a where, now we need a when. I'll need to get a generator before boondocking, as I live on the bus and have a fridge that needs to keep running

I'm 115 miles south of Orlando, but I love road trips, so count me in!

I've got a generator that I just need to get a new gas tank seal for, and a long extension cord to my buddy's place, if you end up needing either.
Lets see how much interest there is in this, and get the "when" part figured out.
And anytime anyone local wants to hang out and get together, just shoot me a pm.

I'm definitely interested, but will have to see how the timing works out. It's about 700 miles for me one way from middle TN... of course if I end up finding a spot to boondock further south then it may not be as far from there.

As long as I have power of some kind, I'm good to go

Keep me posted! And if it happens that I get a chance to come up that way before there's something planned, I'll let you know.

This one sounds more fun all the time.. sounds like I could get away with running a genny here, after my recent experience driving DEV through the mountains in wind and ice I saw just how much heat that bus eats... I'm also much closer to my work stuff in Florida so if I need to I can get back quickly.

Other thing is if something happens and one of the members busses needs repairs there's a couple bigger cities within a couple hours where tools and parts can be had.

Quartzite is so remote I'd be concerned if I break down..

I'd be very interested in coming to a meetup, especially BEFORE I buy a bus. I'm still at the "overwhelmed information overload stage" and seeing in person would be much better than youtube videos. I'm by Cocoa Beach so not very far away. I know the wife would love to see some conversions in person.

We have made the decision to do a conversion and live in it full time.

The small house we are about to start building in January is in Crystal River.
Only 1.5 hours away from you EC.

When we get down there and are flying in & out of Sanford, maybe I will stop in and introduce myself.

Ha! Would if I could! Can't register without insurance. Can't insure without finishing conversion. :-/

My wife will be driving to Bradenton FL to care for her father in early January. Maybe I can have it roadworthy by February. Can't wait to hit the road!

I'm in Arkansas.
