I would love to drive through Canada but it will add 4,000+ miles and the cost of fuel.

If being laughed at concerns you, you might rethink the skoolie idea. My friends are always laughing at me. People leave you alone when they think you are nuts.

on the autobahn you would be limited to 100 KPH (62 MPH) and the right lane in a school bus, and the ticket for not staying in the right lane is really high

As it should be here in Alberta Canada on our four lane highways.

I just did a 4 hour trip on 16, a four lane highway that runs east west all the way across Canada in my 1986 Trans Am. That thing hates driving at under 75 m/h due to the gearing.

Way to many people think they just have the right to chose what ever lane they want, even if only going 40 m/h.

One province over in BC they are fining slow drivers for not staying in the right lane. I hope Alberta is next.

Forty two years ago I took the ferry trip to Alaska in a Chevy 4x4 Suburban and then spent three months roaming and panning for gold. I drove the AlCan hwy back after the snows had begun--don't wait that long. I booked a cabin on the ferry as they would not let me access my vehicle in route and I didn't want to sleep standing up! If you get the chance to go--even if you have to cash in all your IRA's, go for it. The experience cannot be duplicated anywhere else. If you take your bus the hardest thing you'll have to do is to find a place to turn around! Food is expensive there. A friend who lives in Eagle just mentioned that he pays $1 per uncooked egg-they were only 50 cents when I was there. Jack

Central Fl is filled with idiots that moved here and think that same thing. Drive in any lane at any speed and turn any direction from any lane. There are also idiots with rental vehicles from who knows where doing the same thing
They stop in the left lane waiting to turn right! I see this everyday! I keep hearing that is why insurance is so high in this area. Also, something like 40+% are uninsured I drive a route most days for work and sometimes, these same idiots call my work to say I cut them off or went around them. They were going 40 in a 55 in the left lane! I've seen pedestrians and bicyclists hit by vehicles in intersections because the driver is on the phone or using their digital map that is mounted to the middle of the windshield! All day long, I see people ahead of me driving off the road or into someone else's lane while texting.
