Re: How Far

Slightly west of Devil's Tower in Wyoming. I live in Minnesota. Fuel prices are prohibitive on a college budget.

Re: How Far

We went from Grand Rapids MI to South Padre Island TX 2 years ago - 1,600 miles each way.

Adventures along the way included:

Drivers side wiper overextended past the window and the linkage broke during an overnight rainstorm
Jasons bus getting stuck on the beach for 3 days buried up to the frame in sand/sea water
Batteries nearly exploding and needed replacement at midnight
Ran out of fuel, took 3 hours to figure out how to prime my fuel pump

All and all it was a great trip, back when fuel was only $2.50 a gallon, 4 of us rode on my bus - total fuel/campground for 10 days was about $260 each person.

Re: How Far

just over 2800 miles including in and out of the flaming gorge, grand tetons, yellowstone and crazy oregon coastal roads. One month of travel for 200$ worth of diesel and thats cause I got lazy. WVO rules applied. Oh yeah and that was down the rocky mountains and back up to the 10,000ft home. Not one problem whatsoever, seriously! Think I'll do it again in the spring!

Re: How Far

Trip from Apache Junction, AZ to Houston, Texas 1200 miles one way. Only problem was a rear tire blow out somewhere between El Paso and Fort Stockton, TX (thank God for Sam's Club road side assistance).

Company paid for the fuel.
